Great to see so many Eco Parents coming forward to assist with gardening in school. It is developing a wonderful sense of community in Seaview.
The Nursery Unit were enjoying exploring the great outdoors today using recycled binoculars and magnifying glasses. They were looking for some of the small creatures that inhabit out school garden. The children loved being outside and have recorded what they found in their drawings. We love the outdoors in Seaview! Today the gardening club were out enjoying the sunshine planting sunflowers. The children loved being outside in the outdoor area and turned over new soil in the flower beds. With all the sunny weather it was time to get out and clear all the signs of winter away. Mrs Lee was very keen to get the picnic tables out to recreate our outdoor classroom and Mrs Rainey assisted with the power hose. The inner garden is now fully functioning. Mrs Latham even enjoyed sampling some herbs with her lunch from the herb boxes. Garden club gets going this week both children and pupils are very excited. Don't forget we are collecting plastic container to repot plants. Thank you to Sustrans for providing free high visibility vests for each child. These will be given out next week. We are collecting empty plant pots for future gardening projects in school. Please send them in for the gardening club to reuse. Lots of planned summer and autumn projects. From our school newsletter you will be aware that we believe in caring not just for our school but also for our community. That is why we are encouraging all pupils, parents and staff to get involved with the "Big Spring Clean" campaign in Northern Ireland. |
